ELI, ELI - MY GOD, MY GOD

HADERA, ISRAEL - PARTICIPATING IN - P2G WINDOWS OF IDENTITY 2012

POEM BY HANNAH SENESH
My God, My God
I pray that these things never end
The sand and the sea
The rush of the waters
The crash of the heavens
The prayer of man (the heart)

THE PAPERCUT
The Tree of Life-Eitz Chaim, perceptibly present, is the blessing of abundance – Torah.
It leans slightly to the East, to direct the prayers of our heart towards Jerusalem.
Encircling the tree are three connecting rings:
Israel - Hebrew script …ELI, ELI
Peoplehood - intertwining vines linked together;
the strength and might of the Jewish people.
Diaspora - My God, My God… English script.
The rings that unify are continually surrounded by the elements of nature.
The sand and the sea, the rush of the waters, the crash of the heavens, the prayer of man (the heart)
THE VERY NATURE OF PAPERCUTTING IS KEEPING THE PARTS CONNECTED, SO AS NOT TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE WHOLE - SHALOM.
