- My journey as a Papercut Artist began in 2003 while living in Jerusalem. Finding myself immersed in the world of Jewish art I followed a path into creative study of the Torah. It was through this creative study that I began to explore the history and art of papercutting. The essence of papercutting is its expression of particular cultural experiences that preserve the richness of tradition. The papercuts I have developed interweave an Old World tradition & contemporary vision. Rooted in my heritage, I draw upon images from my childhood, time spent in Israel and the many communities I have visited throughout North America. Text from Jewish Liturgy, Psalms and Scripture are valued sources of inspiration, resulting in whimsical and colorful designs. Vibrant colors along with the intertwining of vines and leaves express both life's celebrations and the intricate overlapping of our world. Passion, Color, Texture, Precision, Patience, Artistic Meditation...Leads me to Artist Expression.
